JOB DESCRIPTION

We are pleased to be recruiting for a £4.5m turnover business that has been a market disruptor for nearly 40 years. Based in Bristol, they are expanding their Finance operations and are looking for a Commercial Accountant to join them on a permanent basis. With a very low staff turnover, they enjoy a great culture and the role is broad- it encompasses Management Accounting, some transactional support and Commercial Analysis. This role reports in to the Financial Controller.

The role includes (but is not limited to):

- Management Accounts - quarterly preparation using Sage 50 Accounts Professional software and Excel spreadsheets;

- Extensive contracts analysis as required;

- Assistance with year-end statutory accounts, in preparation for external audit;

- Preparation of a weekly P&L and cash-flow forecasts;

- Sales Ledger - daily preparation, processing and despatching of invoices in line with agreed terms and conditions;

- Maintenance of debtors’ spreadsheet and weekly reporting;

- Credit control - based on an average of 30 customers on debtors’ ledger;

- Daily cash-book maintenance. Monthly bank reconciliation;

- Administrative processing of sales orders including reporting requirements;

- Processing and analysis of bi-monthly employee expense claims;

- Review of purchase ledger function - including authorisation of invoices, issue of bi-monthly payments and reconciliation of purchase ledger;

- Payroll - preparation of monthly payroll including commission and overtime statements. Posting of monthly salary journals. Completion of HMRC documentation. Issue of monthly pension returns and payments to the pension provider. Annual completion of P11D’s;

- Duties relating to the Company’s general building maintenance, motor fleet and travel bookings;

- Distribution of weekly/monthly CRM reports;

- Cover for department colleagues’ work in times of absence;

- Other ad-hoc duties, as required

We are looking for an Accountant (Either Qualified or Qualified by Experience) who has demonstrable experience in the accountabilities above. We want to find someone who is detail-focused and willing to do ad-hoc duties when required, as well as someone who can deputise for the FC when needed.
