Senior Finance Controller

Swindon with flexible working from home

Contract Type – Fixed Term Contract (18 months) Working Hours – Part Time (0.5 FTE/2.5 days per week)

Main Purpose of the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this well-established team at a time of significant investment in new growth areas and projects. This role is based in the finance team that supports Management Support Functions (MSF) across the European functions. Working in this team you will be part of the core European MSF-team working closely together supporting the Function Heads but also part of a wider team including IT- & HR-Controlling for all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

To act as the Senior finance business partner supporting across the European MSF finance team, with particular focus and responsibility for UK-specific MSF results. Strong stakeholder management to influence senior managers using sound financial and commercial arguments, and ensuring an appreciation of the wider financial context - Consolidation and co-ordination of total accounts, forecasts and quarterly reporting in conjunction with Head of MSF Controlling. Focus on the ‘big picture’ and overall result for MSF across European countries.

Responsibility for the non-core UK MSF elements (incl. Pensions, Insurance and miscellaneous items, fx impacts, MSF FTEs and Staff Costs)

• Develop and implement UK FTEs and Staff Cost forecasting process in conjunction with HR controlling and UK controlling teams; support MSF Controller in FTE and Staff Cost reporting cycles

• Lead on UK specific topics relevant to MSF (for example overhead allocations for the Capacity Market analysis and impairment, MSF Delegations of Authority)

• As a senior member of the team, provide support and guidance to junior members of the team as required, and undertake relevant activities as required by Head of MSF Controlling Knowledge & Skills

We are looking for:

• Strong financial background (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with appropriate PQE experience.

 • Proactive problem solver with the ability to influence senior managers and non-finance staff and strong financial modelling skills

• Ability to communicate the bigger picture in a clear, concise way to Senior stakeholders

• High individual responsibility, coupled with strong business partnering skills to ensure a broad range of activities are delivered on time.
